High-pressure gas cylinders
Necking-in
The EN series neck spinning machines have been specially designed for hot forming and are primarily used for the production of high-pressure gas bottles as well as fire extinguishers, accumulators and CNG cylinders. Starting from a tube blank, necks and gas-tight bases are formed.

The end of the blank to be formed is heated to the required temperature in an induction coil, the blank inserted into the chuck by means of a loader and rotationally driven. The neck-forming roller moves along an optimised path whereby the optimum approach angle of the roller to the workpiece is guaranteed at each stage of the process by the use of a swivelling slide. Gas torches compensate for radiated heat losses during the process.
