Necking-in

 |
| The EN series
neck spinning machines have been specially designed for hot forming and
are primarily used for the production of high-pressure gas bottles as
well as fire extinguishers, accumulators and CNG cylinders. Starting from
a tube blank, necks and gas-tight bases are formed. |

 |
| The end
of the blank to be formed is heated to the required temperature in an
induction coil, the blank inserted into the chuck by means of a loader
and rotationally driven. The neck-forming roller moves along an optimised
path whereby the optimum approach angle of the roller to the workpiece
is guaranteed at each stage of the process by the use of a swivelling
slide. Gas torches compensate for radiated heat losses during the process. |
